The Word of God
The Israelites departed from Elim. They arrived to desert of Sin, between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their exodus from Egypt.
The whole community of Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron in the desert. The Israelites said to them, “Why did not Yahweh kill us in the land of Egypt? There we could sit in front of pots of meat and we ate bread as we liked; but you made us go to this desert to starve all this crowd. »
Yahweh said to Moses: “I am going to rain down bread for you from heaven. Let the people go out and pick up what they need every day: I will see whether or not they are walking according to my Law. On the sixth day they will collect and prepare double what they collect on the other days. »
